Kitchen Styles and types

There are many different types of kitchens available however they are made the same way. Kitchens used to be made on site by building a frame out of thin pine timber and then adding chipboard shelving. After this laminated doors were added along with a laminate top. Today kitchens are all made off site in module form and installed on site.

The basic process of Kitchens is the same; the carcass is made of melamine chipboard. This is a series of boxes that are open at the front. These are made to fit the room that the kitchen is going into and they will also form the shape of the kitchen. While they are being made in the factory the doors are fitted and end panels made. After the carcasses, doors and end panels have been installed a bench top or countertop is installed. This can be laminate, stone, reconstituted stone, or resin as they are all install on the same melamine carcasses.

The doors can be melamine, laminate, full timber, or polyurethane. Polyurethane is a gloss, semi gloss, or flat finish that is sprayed on and provides a durable and highly washable surface.
