There are many new decking materials on the market today. From Plastic wood composite to no nail timber decking.

Plastic/Wood Composite

These decking boards use hardwood timber fibres mixed with durable resin/plastic and colour to make a decking board that does not need painting or coating. It can be nailed or screwed down as per timber boards and comes in a range of colours. The example to the right are Modwood brand of decking and are an excellent choice. No nail decking Board

No nail decking boards use a system where a stainless or galvanised metal bracket is screwed to the joists and the decking boards clip to the brackets. This leaves a smooth decking board with an excellent finish. However this system does cost bit more.
